The problem

The log shouldn't tax the training.

Phone up. Find the row. Tap, tap, type. Phone down. Twenty times a session, with chalk on your hands. Small every time, and it never stops.

Typing it: six steps a set, twenty sets a session. Two Plates: the set is already there. One tap.

WITHOUT IT · THE RENT

$30 a year, every year you train, for the same job.

A typical tracker subscription, in US dollars. Serious tools shouldn't be rented.

WITH TWO PLATES

One payment, about what a single year costs elsewhere. Every 1.x update included. Never a subscription.

WITHOUT IT · THE GAPS

A log kept by hand eventually stops getting kept.

And a history with holes proves nothing.

WITH TWO PLATES

One tap a set, so the log keeps itself. Your whole history, kept and yours.

WITHOUT IT · THE MATH

The math stays your job.

Every weight, every week, every block. And an hour of rebuild each time a block ends.

WITH TWO PLATES

Your program does the math every week and every block, and shows its work.

This started with a Notion tracker and an hour of rebuilding it every block. the story ↓
How it works

Three steps. You only do the first one once.

01

Pick a proven program, build your own, or have your AI write one.

5/3/1, GZCLP, nSuns and co. are built in, running their published rules. Build your own, or have your AI write one around how you train and paste it in. It lands as a real program with working progression.

Walk in. Today is on top.

The session is ready before you are: sets laid out, weights computed, last time's numbers right there. All set for Day 5.

The set is already loaded. Confirm it and the rest timer starts. Did something different? The keypad is up, effort chips on top.

Log

Your next set, already loaded.

Every row arrives pre-filled from last time or from your program. If that's what you lifted, one tap logs it. If it wasn't, the keypad is already up.

  • The check is the biggest target on screen. Your thumb lives there.
  • Rest timers run themselves, on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.
  • Warm-ups, partials, per hand dumbbells, bodyweight and timed sets.

Plan

Runs your program. Shows its work.

Your program's own published rules, run for you, every week. Each weight change comes with its reason, in plain language. The hour you used to spend rebuilding a block is gone, and so is the black box.

  • GZCLP moves your T1 from 5×3 to 6×2 to 10×1 when a stage stalls. T2 and T3 weights update themselves.
  • Prescriptions round to the plates you actually own.
  • Paste a program from any AI chat, even the exercises your physio handed you.

Load

No bar math.

Tell it the bars and plates you own and every set comes with what to load, per side. Plate loaded machines too. It's free, because nobody should do arithmetic under a loaded bar.FREE

Effort

Built for lifters who know what @8 means.

You train by feel, so the log records how hard it was, not just what happened. RPE or RIR, on by default, one tap on the keypad, half steps included. Plan effort into the program, not just after the fact.

Apple Watch

Log a set without touching your phone.

The Apple Watch app runs the whole session from your wrist: confirm, adjust, rest, done. The rest ring sits on the button you'll press next. It's free with the app.

  • One tap confirms the set. Adjust it right there on the wrist.
  • Heart rate and calories live, saved to Apple Health at the finish.
  • Last time, the plan and your coach notes one swipe away.

Why it's better

Priced like a tool, not a service.

Most trackers rent you the serious features for as long as you train. Two Plates is priced like a tool: you buy it once, it's yours, and so is every set you've ever logged.

Without it, you'd useA note on your phone
And it costs youRetyping everything, no memory of last time, no math, a history that's just text.

The math works, but it's misery mid-set, and every new block is an hour of rebuild.

Why it exists

A polished log shouldn't be a luxury.

The start

I started training because of my son. I never wanted to miss a chance to run with him. So I found programs on YouTube, downloaded the spreadsheets, and eventually built my own tracker in Notion. The tracking was fine. Rebuilding the program every five-week block was an hour of my night, every single block.

The turn

Then an app finally fixed it for me. Programs built in minutes, everything tracked, genuinely simple. It also costs a hundred dollars a year, every year, for as long as I train. I kept asking myself why. Half my mates still track their lifting in a note on their phone. Not because they don't care, but because nothing this good has ever felt fairly priced.

The belief

I think a polished training log shouldn't be a luxury. Log your sets, run your program, keep your history. Pay for it once, like a tool, and it's yours.

Fair questions

Before you switch.

Will a pay-once app keep being updated?
It's built in public by a lifter who logs every session in it. The unlock covers every 1.x update, for good. If there is ever a Two Plates 2.0 with its own unlock, everyone who bought 1.0 gets it at a discount. Follow along at @twoplatesapp.
Do I lose my history if I switch?
No. Strong, Hevy and Alpha Progression exports open directly. Coming from another app or a spreadsheet? Two Plates hands you a prompt for your own AI chat, which converts the export into a file it reads. Either way it's free, your dates and PRs come with it, and you can export everything back out any time.
Where does my training data live?
On your phone and, if you turn sync on, in your own iCloud. There's no account to create, no analytics, and your training data never touches our servers. The privacy policy is short.
Do I need an Apple Watch?
No. The iPhone app does everything. If you have a watch, the watch app is free with it and runs the whole session from your wrist.
Kilograms or pounds?
Either. Plate math and prescriptions follow the unit you train in, and the bars and plates you tell it you own.
Is it another app to learn?
It works like the logs you already know, minus the taps. Open it, today's session is on top, the set is loaded. Help articles live inside the app for everything else, and the support page reaches the developer directly.

A tool you buy once, for a log you'll always own.

Run a proven program, build your own, or have your AI write one. The math is done, one tap logs the set, from the phone or watch.
